The recent memos received from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) around schools sports including travel to tournaments left many unanswered questions for non-contact sports like cycling.
Schools Cycling South Africa (SCSA), the League’s governing body, addressed these issues directly with the Director of Sport at the DBE. The outcome of these deliberations confirmed that the intent of the DBE is to temporarily suspend ALL inter-schools activity during this current Covid-19 spike.
While the above is currently being gazetted, the League, in consultation with SCSA has decided to suspend all League events until further notice. This suspension is effective from 27 May 2021.
All entries received for affected events will automatically be transferred to re-scheduled dates, when announced.
